the manual is based on an older 1.3.3.x version. at that time, in frame editing was painful. in my experience, in 1.3.8 (and 1.4) it's not the easiest way to enter text for most tasks, any more.

it still works, but the from the feedback i got until now, it seems that it will only get minimal maintenance and must be replaced by a new tool in the future (it won't probably happen before 1.6).

yes, if the problem robin is experiencing are serious enough for him, he should try to use 1.3.8 and see if it better fits his needs.
