This is a slight typo I will fix. These are 2 different but related things.

This should be 'Align to Baseline Grid', adjusted by click-hold on the 
icon to the left of the linespacing spinbox: your choices are fixed, 
automatic, and align to baseline grid.
The default with aligning to the grid is to line up characters right on 
the grid lines, but in the Distances section of Edit Styles you can 
adjust this placement or Offset to a positive or negative value (%). You 
can also adjust the spacing of the baseline grid in File > Document Setup.
