The problem is is that 1pt for metric users is, oversimplistically said, 
useless. Eg. I edit in mm.. I never ever ever use pts. I want to nudge by 1 
mm.

That said, yes, its relatively easy to change, but deciding on a setup for 
inches is the one to decide on.
