[Scribus] Is scribus slow?

I've a GeForce4 with installed nvidia drivers for XFree4.3.

just fine.
I think my 'problem' was, that I've never uses a professional dtp program
before. Just OpenOffice.org or a really old version of Corel Draw some years
ago. I think I just had wrong ideas of how such a program works.
I'll try not to edit that much text in scribus. I'll use another program for
textwriting an include the text after I've done the design.
Thanks for all the suggestions and answers to my questions...
