SuSE's qt3 is located in /usr/lib/qt3, so it's sounding like you might 
have a couple of different versions installed or something.  If you used 
SuSE rpm files to update your 8.2, then everything was removed of the 
old QT3 and new symlinks, etc installed for the new 3.2 version.  Maybe 
you need to do the export QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt3 command in your shell 
before beginning your compile?
