Sorry to hear this Mika,
Superficially without testing, this sounds like a data corruption with in
the XML code of the .sla
If it's sensitive info you can upload to http://bugs.scribus.net and mark
it private so only those with permission could view it. There is also a new
script that scrambles text but it's still experimental so I don't recommend
it yet.

I suggest you upload it for inspection.

On a side note: it would be useful to have some pointers for non-XML savvy
folks how to manually dissect and correct well known XML format issues
within Scribus .sla files
