Thanks. I heard that Inkscape had adopted a
YAVP (Yet Another Version Program) called
bzr, but I haven't yet used it successfully.
The query about svn from the OP threw me a curve.
It would be nice if we could have one such
program as a standard. I thought svn was the
universal language but not so. There are lots of
users. It is not user friendly to insist that
they learn a new versioning system and/or
downloading system and/or compiling system for
each project.
I'll try your code and see what happens, or
doesn't happen. I used your first statement in
a new folder and something at least is
happening. After I download the code, do I use
make or cmake to compile the program?
I have already received an error message
concerning Launchpad but since I only intend to
compile the program I think I can safely ignore
it. Time will tell.
