[scribus] Problems installing on Mac

Just a helpful hint from me when you move to Big Sur. I thought I had a problem because when you click on the ‘open’ option Apple presents a pop up box that has greyed out buttons and looks as if they aren’t available- but they actually are active!

Best regards

I sign the binary with an Apple developer certificate. There is no concern in that respect. The challenge is that we are not distributing from the Apple App Store which means apps that are downloaded from websites just need to clear that initial hurdle to run. Its not a Scribus problem in that respect.

thanks
Craig

I’ve been using a 2008 version of InDesign CS3 which will not work on Big Sur, and was also referred to scribus to do the layout for a nonprofit newsletter we publish.

I?m afraid that Apple now only has two options for download/installation and they are only to allow from the App Store or to allow from the App Store or Apple approved developers. It says it won?t let me install because Scribus are not Apple approved developers!
