Hi Bert,
In his case, since he is simply trying to get rid of a Scribus version he's not using, it's hard to imagine the harm that will come from deleting the directory that his 1.3.3.4 version is in; nothing is using it, including the newer Scribus that he also has. Unless he's running out of space, he could alternatively just leave it there and delete its desktop icon.
