[scribus] Bad text came back from the printer, but why?

When PDFs were new, there were often problems in embedding founts. One solution was to make a Postscript file of your doc, then distill it as a PDF. TrueType faces can cause problems even today (though not so much with newer versions) so if you're not sure how old your fount files are it’s often best to use only PS or OpenType faces.
