[scribus] Unable to install Scribus

I just (about a month ago) installed Scribus on Mavericks and got all
the dependencies from macports ( http://www.macports.org ). I think
(although I can't remember precisely) I did it by installing scribes

sudo port install scribus

to install all the dependencies and then removing scribus with

sudo port uninstall scribus

and installing it from the dmg (so that I could find it with cmd +
space). I'm sure Greg's way will work too, I guess it's just a case of
which you like!
