[scribus] "Open Existing" dialog never displays anything

I posted the problem on a Kubuntu reflector.. and of course, after more than a
week in which the problem was completely consistent, it suddenly disappeared.
No reboot, not even a logout; but suddenly both scribus and digikam started to
display the dialogs properly (I had applied a couple of Kubuntu updates in the
meantime; I have no idea whether that was what fixed things). As I said on the
Kubuntu reflector: I hate it when that happens.
