Type 1 fonts were once considered more reliable than ttf 
fonts. This is still true for the many free ttf fonts created by 
amateurs. But ttf fonts from reliable sources are as good as 
Type 1. Either can be used with Scribus. I use Type 1 mostly 
but that is just my habit.
