This is actually a very creative and practical solution, done with the 
right approach:

1. Make a line with the desired rotation, curvature, and so forth. Make 
your arrowhead(s).

2. Make a copy of your line, exactly superimposed on the original. 
Usually easier to do a Multiple Duplicate of only one copy.

3. On the copy, delete the arrowheads and adjust line width as desired.

This will obviously only work when you wish to have a line which is 
thicker then the nominal one on your original, but considering the S, M, 
and L arrows, should be feasible.
