Hi

We are editing a small quarterly newletter for our village here in the Swiss
mountains, It is 28 to 32 pages A5 in German. Since last June I use the
Scribus for this task and really like it and I would like to use this
opportunity to thank everybody who contributed to the Sribus project.

My workflow is usually the following. We collect contributions (text and
photos) from 5 to 15 different contributors. As we cannot impose any common
style sheet for Word or whatever word processor they use, I always pasted the
text into kate (I could have used vim) to remove any trace of the
contracting/confusing/inconsitent styles the contributions have.

For each article I add a text box and paste in the text. Then I have a few
styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, Standard, Editorial, etc) which I manually apply
to different paragraphs. If needed I apply some bold/italic or other manual
formatting if needed.

This workflow worked fine for me for the last issue (November 08). I recompiled
using the latest SVN sources (after r13290
#6989 : applying styles to text imported via "Get text" doesn't take effect
Applying a named paragraph style now reset direct formatting applied to
characters

But I still have the problem that the style chosen is only used for the
paragraphs (line spacing, identation, tabs and the like) but that the
associated character style (e.g. font, size) does not change when I select
another style in the text box.

There I think one should not yet close the bug 6889. Or did I missed
something?

I am running Debian/GNU-LInux lenny with some unstable packages.

Best regards
