Hi
i have here a similar problem..
I am trying to insert an odt formatted text to a text frame.
when its inserted however it loses all the italics. Might the problem be
with the font?

About vectors.. i think increasing the compatibility with inkscape svg files
properties should be in the scribus to do list;

cheers.

If I may make a suggestion here it would be to change mindset and don't to any
further setting out or design work in OpenOffice

I, too had those difficulties and decided to take the longer road of losing all
the formatting and completely redoing it in Scribus.
After a while its turns out to be the shortest route.
I now consider work submitted in pdf, word, Openoffice, etc as just example
layout (like images) and simply cut and paste the parts into preset text boxes
with the outlines turned on so I know where they are, fine tune the layout then
turn off the text box outlines.
Works well in my circumstances.

If I has a wish it would be that the scribus desktop have a semi transparent
setting so I could place the original under the Scribus Desktop, partially
visible and trace the Scribus page layout over the top of the original, but
that's only a wishful convenience and of no practical value.
