By far, you will get better results in Scribus itself, ie, importing the 
text from a Word doc in plain text to a text frame. To import from Word 
to Linux you need antiword, if you're using Scribus in Windows, you 
already have everything you need.

See the recent thread about Crop marks about that issue, for which you 
can use a script included with Scribus.
