Hi Ermin,
first, the copy&paste stuff depends on the operating system and desktop
environment. I guess you are using windows (as you use Office)? As JLuc
wrote, Scribus can paste Text - but being a frames based DTP app, it can
paste text (content) only into frames, not into an empty page.
It would be nice if you could give some more info on the problems
imorting graphics - "does not work as I expectet" is not really specific
for someone trying to help. Using SVG usually means some loss of
information in our days, the format allows a lot and has an incredible
feature set, so that most apps that import SVG actually support a
subset. I expect this to improve, but at the moment it makes life a bit
difficult. PS and EPS should work relieable with Scribus. Do track
problems, open the Postscript files making trouble in Ghostscript (or
GSView etc. to have a GUI). Scribus uses Gostscript to render
Postscript, so files not displaying in GS won't do in Scribus neither.
As far as I remember there are different options for exporting
Postscript from Inkscape, try them...
At the moment I use PS for all my graphics, and in some rare cases (very
dense hatches etc) convert them to pixel-based formats before placing them.
CU Lars.

Thanks for the quick answer.
To be more specific:
My computer is Windows OS, XP home SP3, with 2 Gb memory.
Images are bitmaps, scanned from pictures, with text laid over with colored
background (three layers: picture - background - text) and grouped.
Resulting image is stored as PS, using any of the two options (4 total):
"Convert text to paths" and "Embed fonts".
Embedding font is clearly no option since Inkscape does terminate when using
this option, leaves "Convert text to paths" as an option to be switched on
and off.
When switching to Scribus and importing the resulting file gives in Scribus
a fatal error: importing file <path\filename> has failed.
Using EPS gives similar results, both with terminating Inkscape and not
importing into Scribus.
How do I open a PS file in Gostscript? According the help it is supposed to
be filename.ps in the commandline, but how do I chance the directory? Or do
I have to bring my PS-files into the GS directory. Sadly my experience with
DOS doesn't help....
When bringing the PS files to the c:\program files\GS directory and
subsequently opening them gives "error \undefined in filename.ps.
So basically something goes wrong somewhere. Point is I don't have a clue
where.
Regards
Ermin
