Got Scribus skills you want to advertise? Or do you need someone to
help get a Scribus job out the door?

I have established the Friends of Scribus group on LinkedIn as a
professional network for the Scribus ecology, where Scribus experts can
blatantly market their skills in a way not appropriate for the
netiquette of this mailing list. It's where you can post your graphic
arts CV, brag about the major league clients you have worked for, and
generally put yourself out there.

If you are running a graphics art studio or a print workflow based
around open-source, the Friends of Scribus is where you can look for
additional help for those peak periods, or to outsource minor jobs. You
can look for yourself at Friends of Scribus
<http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=156407>.  The publication of the
Official Manual seems like the right historic milestone to announce a
professional networking group.

And if you are interested in promoting a graphic design and print
ecology based around open source, you might like to sign up to these
other shopfront groups:

    * Friends of Aptana Studio
      <http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=1128277>, a Web 2.0 IDE
    * Friends of FontForge <http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=1289577>,
      font design and manipulation application
    * Friends of FrameMaker <http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=897507>,
      an Adobe product specially designed for conventional books
    * Friends of Inkscape <http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=157117>

Hedley
