Something inhibits people. Schools are particularly frustrating because 
they "want to teach what is used in the workplace".

But MS Office 2007 doesn't look like Office 2000.

A few of the windows controls are nicer than those built into Gimp etc - 
  at least in some respects.

I don't get the impression that OSS file selection controls necessarily 
handle C: D: and E: drives as nicely as windows. They don't understand 
"My Computer" as the root of all evil.
