It's been handy for us, and I guess it seemed easier than writing a C
program to generate the postscript. It's certainly more compact, and
does away with having an executable as such.

We only use it once a year, but I think we've used it since at least 2001.

Anyway - it's nice to see postscript used as a programming language
rather than as a page layout language for once.

It's probably worth my mentioning that rather than working in a 'points'
based coordinate system, I did it in the coordinate system of a graphics
application we wrote which produced landscape output, 0 to 12,500 on the
x axis, 0 to 10,000 on the y axis, hence...

     568 0 translate
     90 rotate
     780 12500 div 528 10000 div scale

and 200

     /Helvetica-Bold findfont 200 scalefont setfont

gives a plausible font size.

No doubt it could be simplified, but I'm used to thinking in our
coordinate system.

"/x1 900 def" through "/y1 100 def" sets the location of the numbers
printed, and "/TktStr 15 string def" sets the number of the first ticket
to 15. You'll generally want some other number.

Cheers, J/.
