Hi Russ,

The shortcut for page numbers has changed. In 1.3x it's Ctrl+Alt+Shift+P 
(don't enter "+" characters). The "+" you see is probably a remainder of your 
attempts to use the "+"-key. You can also insert a page number via Insert > 
Character > Page Number.
