The GUI control is possibly making a list of 4x25 to show your *almost* 100 
fonts. Edit Paragraph Styles breaks the font names and their variants out. 
See the control below the one you are using.

Story Editor's font list in the menu is for the GUI display only, not fonts 
for your canvas items. The one on the toolbar shows exactly the same 
information as the Edit Paragraph Styles one does.

How am I supposed to see what I'm doing if the GUI display has a different set of fonts than the printer? 
What are you referring to as "The one on the toolbar"?

>From the GUI notes you make, some of these issues indicate to me you are on a 
Mac? Correct? Bad design choices in OS*, imnsho, make listboxes hard to use 
with large numbers of entries on this platform.

No, I'm using Fedora 4 Linux.
