I've had similar problems. I've created 12, 16, and 20 page newsletters
comprised of 8.5 x 5.5 inch pages. Many times the printer ends up
enlarging the page when putting them side-by-side on 8.5 by 11 inch paper.
I've since found out that their impress process finds the maximum
boundaries of my text and images, then expands it to fit the area,
usually to about 105% of the original. The recently I spent time with
the printer after it was done right to find out what the right way is.
It seems that the plug-in, I think it was called Quite Impress, needed
to be told to put the 8.5 x 5.5 inch pages in a 8.5 x 5.5 inch space.
