[Scribus] Same Type 1 problem since 0.9.9

Hi, all.

I've seen that asked sometimes already but I haven't found anything yet to
solve this problem.
Since the 'automatic kerning from afm files' was added to Scribus (0.9.9
version), my Type 1 fonts do not run properly anymore in Scribus : each
caracter seem to occupy the space of 2 and I cannot add a character to any
part of a text using the keyboard. I can delete them though.
Truetype fonts are displayed and are editable properly.
I have no problem whatsoever with my fonts in other software (mainly KDE based
but also GIMP) and they work perfectly with Scribus 0.9.8. In Scribus 1.0,
they are even displayed correctly in the font selection field, in Text.
The problem only occur in Scribus documents.

I use a Slackware 9.0, with gcc 3.2.2, glibc 2.3.1, XFree 4.3 and all the font
system seems correctly set up. I'm french and using the little bit outdated
i18n french package if that can be a reason.
I've checked all the links on the Scribus site already, including the 'Red Hat
8' how-to but it didn't change anything.

Thanks for any suggestion.

Best regards,

	Richard Van Den Boom
