Do you have anything like svg or vector artwork in your scrapbook which
might have been created in earlier versions? If so, save the scrapbook
and start with a fresh one. This is a harmless warning from files
created in the early 1.1.0 cvs versions, which was fixed by Franz.

That is certainly a KDE/Qt issue.

?? The only thing there is to see that you have the latest libart.

Scribus uses freetype2 to extract font info.

Unlike Adobe Type Manager, which often separates the bits, Xfree keeps
them in the same folder.

My default font has been Adobe Utopia from X11R6 This is a good
versatile Type 1 font or MS Trebuchet from the web fonts collection.
Never a problem with export or printing to a fussy RIP.

More recently since Franz added Open Type font support (which is superb
btw), I have been using Adobe Caslon Pro (Open Type).

You can change this a bit by experimenting with the mouse grab selection
preference in the Preference panel. The mouse speed settings in Kcontrol
(if you use KDE) can also come into play.

Wait until you see the new screen shot gallery with KDE 3.2 :)

I loaded the first KDE 3.2 beta and it's fabulous. It is much faster
than 3.1. The kwin window manager has had lots of improvements to
eliminate rubber banding, flicker etc. Dragging windows around is much
smoother without ghosting. For a point release it has a lot of polish
and good fit and everything integrates together nicely.
