[Scribus] PDF generation inconsistency

With Scribus 1.0 on Mac OS X (using the Fink install), I have recently
noticed this problem:

1. Generate a document, any document
2. Export to PDF - works fine most of the time
3. BUT! Occasionally get an error, cannot create
<directorypath><filename.pdf>

And once this happens, it won't generate a PDF until I've quit the
application and restarted it.

It's not a problem with the document (I had problems early on with
Scribus and document corruption leading to the inability to create
PDF's - where I would have to delete the most recent elements and add
them back in before a PDF could be made), as if I save the document,
reload the app, reload the document, and export to PDF it works fine.

Anyone else seen anything like this?
