[scribus-dev] Is there a way to show the compiled build revision # for a dev build

Do we need to reinvent the wheel here? Are there other projects out there
that do something like this that we can learn from ?

Or an ugly hack for now that we at compile time say something like: echo
"$sorcery_that_tells_us_revision#"  > .svn_revision.txt
