can we get

http://bugs.scribus.net/view.php?id=9850

in the roadmap for 1.4, then?

is the patch attached enough?

if not, what do you need to get the issue solved?

not sure that a big warning in the NEWS is enough... i'm not really
aware of having seen any news when updating my packages...

personally, i'm for publishing a "fake" RC for debian/ubuntu only, with
an alert showning when scribus starts up:

"scribus 1.4 has been released. please use scribus instead of scribus-ng."

after a month (or a bit longer) we could somehow safely upgrade -ng to
1.5.0 ...

putting it only on our server may be enough (most people using -ng have
added our repositories...).

my goal is, that nobody (or as few people as possible) opens a .sla with
1.5 and then notices that it's too buggy and wants to go back to 1.4...
