This doesn't make any sense to me. DejaVu fonts have always worked fine.<br>
I can't find anything in the link to connect fontconfig to some<br>
operation to check or evaluate fonts.<br>

LibreOffice has no problem with DejaVu.<br>

LibreOffice might use another method of getting fonts. In any case, you can check the fonts available to fontconfig with the fc-list command <a href="https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/font_configuration" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">https://wiki.archlinux.org/<wbr>index.php/font_configuration</a> and you can ask fontconfig what provides or substitutes for a given font with the fc-match command. <a href="https://linux.die.net/man/1/fc-match" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">https://linux.die.net/man/1/<wbr>fc-match</a><br>
