<div class="PlainText" style="font-size: 10pt;">Do you mean modifying the pdf before burning the plate? Somehow in<br>
InDesign there is a provision for compensating for the expected dot<br>
gain. I've never used InDesign, and never will, but the co-workers I'm<br>
trying to win over to Scribus see this lack of pre-press features as a<br>
fatal flaw.<br>

I have not tried it, but Scribus supports ICC profiles <a href="https://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Getting_and_installing_ICC_profiles" class="OWAAutoLink" id="LPlnk19666" previewremoved="true">https://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Getting_and_installing_ICC_profiles</a></p>

<p style="font-family: Calibri, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", NotoColorEmoji, "Segoe UI Symbol", "Android Emoji", EmojiSymbols; font-size: 16px;">
and ICC profiles can specify dot gain and color curves. <a href="https://printplanet.com/forum/prepress-and-workflow/color-management/274-dotgain-compensation-in-icc-profiles" class="OWAAutoLink" id="LPlnk730998" previewremoved="true">https://printplanet.com/forum/prepress-and-workflow/color-management/274-dotgain-compensation-in-icc-profiles</a></p>
