<pre>I think this ought to be listed in the possible Keyboard shortcuts list.
We already have zero-width joiner and zero-width non-joiner, which have
to do with either encouraging or forbidding ligatures, and there is also
zero-width space, which is the opposite of what you're looking for,
since it shows where to break if that is appropriate.
Alternatively, there could be a way to associate any Unicode character
with a keyboard shortcut. With our new CTL capabilities, this would seem
highly desirable.
