Hi
As a newbie to Scribus and using 1.4.1 release,
where should I look for information on creating
a multi-page magazine? Most of the video tutorials
are out of date and so is much of the wiki. When I went to
the 1.4 manual, much of the content was void. Where will
I find the info I am looking for?
Thanks

As editor, I oversee the publishing of a quarterly, 68 page magazine and would be willing to help you along. I've been using Scribus for a bit over two years, exclusively, to layout the magazine. Ours is not a high end, all color publication, but we do use color on all the cover pages (4) and have 64 pages of gray-scale content inside. I use, alternately, 1, 2, and 3 column pages depending on the content of the page. Articles are frequently linked from one page to the next, and often skipping pages to a more convenient spot further back in the issue. We run as many photos, again, gray-scale, as possible, as well as a cover photo which is color.

The key to Scribus is to think in terms of frames of text or images on a page which is essentially it's own frame. These frames can be linked so text will flow from one to another, or can overlay parts of another frame regardless if one is an image frame or a text frame or simply occupy their own space without touching another frame. Frames may have a border or be border-less, as you wish, and can be sized to whatever size you want them.

I will assume you know about printing enough to understand the concept of picas/points. This is fairly standard in the US but beyond here, I cannot speak to the relevance of point sizes. A point is 1/72 of an inch.
