There!

<br>
I am new in the list and with Scribus, too.

My problem, why I ended up with subscribing to the mailing list is
that
<br>
I am not able to edit sla file, downloaded from net.
<br>
<br>
Let's see my concrete problem.
<br>
I decided to help to translate some articles from the Ububtu's
Full
<br>
Circle magazine.
<br>
After downloading issue 64 from:
<br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuMagazine/TranslateFullCircle?action=AttachFile&do=view&target=issue64.tar.gz">https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuMagazine/TranslateFullCircle?action=AttachFile&do=view&target=issue64.tar.gz</a>,
<br>
and decompressing it, I have found in its main directory the
issue64.sla
<br>
file.
<br>
When opening it, I saw everything well, but all editor tools were
inactive.
<br>
<br>
What is the problem?

Hello!<br>
<br>
Only objects (including text) in the current layer can be edited.
I'm guessing that you're probably not on the correct layer. This
particular document has 31 layers - that's quite a few to sort
through. Open the layers dialogue (F6 or <i>Windows --> Layers</i>).
From there, you should be able to figure out which layer you need to
work with (you can turn off the visibility of most of the layers if
you need to, etc.)<br>
