Hi,

One of my student have this problem: she work with Scribus 1.4.0rc3
and her colleague use an older version: 1.3.8svn. I know that it isn't
possible to open with 1.3.5 version, but 1.3.8 ?

I proposed her to use the same version, waiting for her response...
I would propose that both upgrade to Scribus 1.4.0rc5. IMO there is no
reason not to and the procedure is very easy. All older files will work
with rc5.

I think the only reason is they are not administrators of her PC.
It is probably possible to install and use scribus 1.4RC5 on a USB key
even if it requires another computer for install.

[1] It will be released officially by PortableApps.com as soon as 1.4 is released by the Scribus team. Ghostscript is also available in PortableApps Format in case it is needed as well. [2] Both work smoothest if installed in the PortableApps Platform [3], but it isn't neccessary. All that's needed is that the Scribus package and the Ghostscript package are side-by-side.
