Hi<br>
<br>
Although I normally use Linux, I had to install 1.3.8 for Windows today
and found errors when I tried to install it as a normal user. I
recognise that installing software as a normal user isn't good
practice, but sometimes it works fine, sometimes you must have
administrator rights. In this case, beacuse there were no complaints
during and after installation you believe the software is ok to install
as a normal user.<br>
<br>
Installing as a normal user appeared to go fine until I started the
installed application the first time, where I got the following error :-<br>
<i><br>
'This application failed to start because the application configuration
is incorrect. Reinstalling the applicatin may fiux the problem'</i><br>
<br>
I reinstalled with exactly the same thing occurred.<br>
<br>
Logging in as administrator and installing and running the app as admin
it all worked fine, but after logging back in as a normal user again
the menu icons weren't present for the normal user, although the app
ran fine running from scribus.exe in windows explorer (I've seen this
before sometimes when installing 1.3.3.x too)<br>
<br>
I think the Scribus Windows installer could do with a warning that you
must have admin privs or login as an administrator to install,
otherwise you could end up with lots of confused users who will just go
elsewhere as it doesn't appear to install correctly ...<br>
