This is likely
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/scribus/+bug/1939213 (which I
can't reproduce on Debian, although just today I received a mail about
somebody who did).
I didn't have a chance yet to sat down and try to figure it out yet.  Of
course if somebody does and can point to what might be happening, that's
very welcome.
