What's really required ist the possibility to save "session" data either with a document or generally. This would allow users to save a particular collection of palettes and dialogues as they were when they closed a document or Scribus, including their position. Most, if not all of Adobe's offerings have this option.

The question is how to handle this feature if users are operating in different environments, for instance, one with a dual monitor setup, another one with a single monitor. The easiest way, I think, is to simply revert to the default settings if a file with a dual monitor setting is being opened in a single monitor environment.
