I do a car club newsletter. When I could no longer use Pagemaker I started
using Scribus. My main computers are Ubuntu Linux. Some fonts in Scribus
would not give me all the options I needed. (Bold, italic, italic bold etc.)
My printing company uses all Windows based software.
When I would send the PDF down, if the font was different on the picture
captions it got all screwed up. Scribus did not not have Times New Roman (I
used that with Pagemaker) Once I installed Times New Roman fonts as a
preference all my problems went away.

Good Luck!

right when you say that the size of the pdf-file has nothing to do with the
problem.

all look at it and see the issue without needing to run code to get the PDF
file, perhaps archive.org? Or perhaps this mailing list accepts small
attachments?
