Hyphenation works as far as I know.

But the question is, how important is it for the readers?

Most newsletters I get from commercial companies like my electricity
supplier, internet provider etc are in HTML.

Well I can tell you that the fit to window size does not work well on my
phone.

So that's why you need to know your readers. What do they need? What you
want is irrelevant:)

Today a lot of people don't use a computer.
