Hello,
Reporting back:
I've tried using both a .CSV and a plain text file with the same results.
Additionally I also tried this same scenario using Scribus 1.4.6 on OS X 10.9.5 with no error.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Andrew

as an alternative, you can export from excel to a text or csv file and
then load the content of the file into a text frame...
