When last I tried to create a long document I
found that the number of pages in the doc affects
response time to ordinary commands hugely. The
conventional wisdom was to break up the doc
into 10 or 20 page blocks. I have developed my
own solution for my current project creating a
page at a time and then merging the pages at the
end of the process using Ghostscript. But has the
1.5.x series shown better response time on
long documents than earlier versions?
