Thanks. I had misunderstood what you meant the first time. I did put a
tab stop at 2 points from the left and that exhausted the unnecessary tab
that Scribus inserts at the first of each imported line.
I find it hard to believe that Scribus inserts that artificial comma at the
beginning of each line when one imports a .csv file. Sure that is an error
and not some feature. I would have thought that would be a big enough
error that it would have been corrected, unless, of course, it came up in
the latest versions.
But, the knowledge of what happens sure makes much clearer a few issues
I've experienced before that caused me not to use comma separated files in
the past.
