[scribus] State of spell checking in scribus 1.4

Hi guys, I'm working on Ubuntu 12.04, Scribus 1.4.1. Spell check shows 
up in menu and when you hit F7 (when text block is selected). However, 
It doesn't detect misspelled words (it does report words with quotation 
marks attached) - I've tried several of the available libraries.
