I might be wrong, but it seems to me that Tom prints to a virtual PDF
printer that comes as optional install with Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Essentially, it's the same thing as using CUPS' virtual PDF printer on
If so, I don't see benefits of that workflow.
Tom, please try exporting PDF using Scribus' internal pdf exporter.
You'll avoid many possible problems. Open Scribus exported PDF in
Acrobat and print from there. If you see a difference between that print
and the print of PDF you produced using GIMP, there might be a bug
