But why are you doing this manually at the first place? You can simply
type straight ("plain") quotation marks temporarily and use Autoquote
script to convert them to proper quotation marks.
@John Ghormley, but aren't straight quotation marks considered incorrect
in english? I remember some typographers considered it a typographical
sin using straight instead of curly quotation marks. Not to mention
confusion with double prime sign.
