creating a style is a way to do it...

you can also directly set the line spacing in the text tab of the
properties palette.
just set the line spacing to automatic (to check if the problem is
related to it) and then set a fixed linespace or -- even better --
align the text to the baseline.

(if you're using 1.3.3.14 (sorry i already discarded your original
mail) you will have do do a lengthy click on the line spacing icon to
change the modus... in 1.3.8 it's straightforward).
