Macports doesn't support 10.4

It suffices to set MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET to 10.4 and perhaps -mmacosx-version-min=10.4 and, most importantly, use "-isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSXSDK10.4u.sdk". Just make sure that these flags are used in *all* compilations and linkings.

Macports doesn't support 10.4, and they don't really support 10.5 when running on a 10.6 machine either.
