The 1.3 group includes both stable and unstable versions. 1.3.3.14 is 
stable and everything past that is or was an unstable version, 
including 1.3.4 (now defunct), 1.3.5, 1.3.6, 1.3.7 and 1.3.8. 

At some point the 1.3.x string will become stable and the final product 
will be designated 1.4.0 We aren't there yet.

In a parallel but more advanced development string 1.5.0 is the 
current designation. It gets updated frequently and I download and 
compile the latest version overnight through a script. When it 
stabilizes it will become 1.6.0. That event is far into the future.
