Agreed. Let me mention, however, that you can directly manipulate the 
.sla files, as well. A few years ago, I had to work together with a 
colleague on a project using Scribus. The files were on a network drive, 
but she used a windows version, and I had linux, so the image paths were 
never right when we passed the files to each other. And we had *lots* of 
images. It was trivial to write a small perl script (but sed could also 
do the job) to fix the paths back and forth.
